Here are some pics we took during the kids’ delayed-due-to-the-wildfires birthday extavaganza.  We also spent some time last night at the Rancho Cucamonga Tree Lighting Ceremony which was a hoot.  Definitely got me in the mood for the holidays as you can tell by the update to the site.  Take a gander:

This came across in an email the other day, and I thought it was appropriate to share with you seeing as though we are now less than a week away from Thanksgiving.  We certainly do have a lot to be thankful for, and a lot of that is because of the men and women in our armed forces.  As mentioned in the email, let’s everyone take five to thank them while we are all getting ready to send out cards and start decking the halls from the comforts of our home.

Subject: For the Troops

When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address.  If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people – who have sacrificed so much – would get. When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following:

A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue, NW
Washington,D.C. 20307-5001
