Father-Daughter Dance 2010

Once again, the Father-Daughter Dance was a huge success. Mostly, because Madison ditched her dad and hung with her friends the entire time. She is definitely turning into a young lady. The little girl in her still shines through by way of her desire to stuff two cupcakes, jello, a handful of chicken tenders, and a Shirley Temple into her tiny stomach (which I am convinced is made of iron), however. Between the horse-drawn carriage rides and the dancing, we both had a tremendous time. Here are the pics.

Achilles Tendon Definitely NOT Injured

By the title of this post one would think that this is good news. However, I have to be open here and let you know that stating this is how I deal with stress. It’s my coping mechanism. That is, because I think I have achilles tendoinitis or some form thereof.  So, I merely tell myself that my achilles tendon is definitely not injured so I do not throw myself off the top of this here office building. Plus, the fact that I am on the first floor helps little. I’ll probably just twist my ankle and make it even worse.

Last week, I posted my running plan for the Redlands Half Marathon in April which consisted of 16 weeks of training ranging anywhere from 26-38 miles per week. Since this is not all that much more than I was doing before, I thought I would take a shot at it. Now, since my good friends over at WebMD and FootPhysicians.com tell me this is normally caused by overuse I think I might need to ratchet it back a notch. I do love the idea of running nearly every day; however, I want to make sure that I hit the start line injury free.

I am currently waiting to hear what the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll people have to say about the addition of the half marathon to their event in June. If they do add one, I might hang it up for a few weeks, take it easy, and put that one on the calendar. As it stands, the Redlands event is still on. I just might alter training some so I can actually walk when I get to work.

Merry Christmas, Everyone!
